Well this afternoon I was trying to get some stuff around the house done, but Aidan was a little gassy, and therefore a tad fussy. He really likes music though, so I figured I'd put some music in and see if that kept him occupied. He really likes the music that is played on his toys (that kind of mechanical sounding music) so I figured I would put in the sample Baby Einstein DVD that came with his playmat. We have the whole series, but I already packed them since I didn't think he was old enough for them yet. Anyway, I put the DVD in and we sat down in front of the TV. Well the minute it turned on he was just mesmerized and entertained. I didn't realize he could see that far away already. So he was so entertained, I put him in his bouncer, and I think we watched the same 10 minute clip at least three times! I know that's horrible... but it is just music and colors and puppets! Anyway, he tuckered himself out, and now I have some free time to upload some videos of him watching his first "tv show"! All I can say, is that he is definitely Ian's son with the concentration he showed toward the TV!

Daddy though it was time Aidan learned how to "ride" the cat! As you can see, they both "loved" it!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!! I hope that all the dads are having a fantastic day. We started today off with trying out Aidan's new schedule. We are working on getting into a more permanent routine. Rather than just eating every 3 hours and winging everything else, I figured it was time to figure out a schedule. Aidan did pretty good, didn't always sleep when I thought it might be prudent, but no melt downs and we still made it to bed on time! We started off the day by letting Ian sleep in and then we went on a walk around the neighborhood. Then I made breakfast burritos and then Ian was off to work. To celebrate Father's Day, Aidan and I went and got Ian cupcakes from Sprinkles! Yummy!

Here's some pictures from today and some other pictures from the last week. Aidan is now 7 weeks old and about 11 pounds! He's smiling more and loves to listen to you when you read books and sing songs. He wiggles and jiggles whenever he hears music. Let's hope he has more rhythm than mom and dad!

Aidan's 1st Day on the Job

Aidan had his 1st day of work today! And boy did he have a rough time of it! When he wasn't being given a tour of the school and introduced to all his adoring fans by Janice, he was being held and fed by Sue! Then we took a few breaks in the "shade" under the table! All in all, it was a very productive day!

Just a quick update

Here's some pictures and more videos of Aidan. He really likes music and will start "dancing" when it comes on! We've been getting a lot more smiles, so if you look closely, you might see one! :) Aidan has been sleeping a bit more at night, 4 hours instead of 2-3... so since he's sleeping more, we are sleeping more, and it is making for a happy family especially with how busy we have been during the day! As you may know, we have been looking for a new house. Well after looking at at least 30-40 houses, and bidding and getting outbid on a few, we are finally in escrow. We are supposed to close at the end of this week, but ther emight be some delays. We are going to close by the 26th at the absolute latest. So we have been busy picking out new carpet and paint, and getting our townhouse packed up. It's going to be crazy around here the next two weeks with getting the new house ready to move into before July 1st, but I know we can do it!

Here's some more pictures. I know I can hardly contain myself... Aidan is 5 weeks old! It's so amazing how big he has already gotten and how much he has changed since he was born. He's finally sleeping for longer periods of time... Maybe 4-5 hours between feedings! This week he has started taking naps in his crib and really likes it! If he didn't still wake up at night, he'd be in his crib full time!

1 month check up

Aidan had his one month check up today. He's now 9 lbs 6.5 oz and 21.5 in long. So he's gotten an inch longer and almost 2 lbs heavier than he was at birth! The pediatrician said he's just a bit on the small side of average, but as I like to remind Ian, he was a week early! LOL! Every time we go to the doctor they alway comment on how bright his eyes are and how alert he is. He's healthy and she assured me that he should start sleeping for longer periods of time soon! Here's some pics and video I shot of him last night when he was playing with his "gym" that I just put together.
