Well life has certainly been keeping us busy lately. We have definitely had our share of emotional ups and downs! In March we found out we are expecting baby #2... another BOY (due November 10, 2010)! Not long after receiving this exciting news, we found out that Ian was being deployed to Afghanistan... one month after Baby #2 was due. Yikes! Shortly after this news, we found out that my Grandma Hansen had passed away... only to be followed a few short weeks later by my Dad. We miss them every day, but find comfort in knowing they are together in Heaven and looking out for all of us. In May, we celebrated Aidan's 1st birthday. He had a great birthday party and enjoyed spending time with all his friends and family. My grandma Phyllis, Aunt Gretchen, and my Mom were all able to make it down for his birthday and loved seeing how much he had grown since they had last seen him over the holidays. A few weeks later, Ian's parents (Papa John and Grandma Lyn) also came down for a visit. We enjoyed playing with Aidan's water table and spending time relaxing in the great AZ weather! School ended for me at the end of May and I was very pleased with how my group of students did this year. That very same weekend we went on vacation to Hawaii. We had an extremely fun and relaxing time as Aidan experienced the beach for the first time! We explored the island and relaxed at the pool or beach every day! While we were in Hawaii, we received news that two of our friends were in a very serious accident. Lisa's injuries were too severe and she did not survive the accident. Joe is still in the hospital with two severely broken legs and a broken arm, among other injuries. (Joe was in the academy with Ian, and Lisa was a teacher I taught with at Hudson. They met at Ian's graduation party in 2007 and were just recently engaged). The accident was a total shock to all who knew and loved Lisa and Joe. He really needs everyone's prayers and good thoughts to help him recover and so does Lisa's family as they deal with her loss. Right after we got back from Hawaii... after two months of thinking Ian was going to be deployed and trying to figure out how I was going to deal with working full time and taking care of two babies under the age of two... we got the wonderful news that Ian's deployment had been cancelled. So that's pretty much been our last three months in a nutshell... like I mentioned... a lot of ups and downs. It's been rough, and I know some of you wonder how we do it... but we just take each day at a time!
Now, I haven't mentioned much of Aidan... he deserves his own paragraph!!! He is an extremely happy and active 13 month old! Every day he does or learns something new and we are just so proud of him! Some of his recent accomplishments include getting his 5th tooth (as of today!!), waving hello and goodbye, high fives, pointing at things he wants... and he is quite the chatterbox saying words such as kitty, hi, mama, dada, and my favorite "love you". We are working on thank you, and it sometimes sounds like he actually says it! He loves to laugh and is happiest when he gets to spend time with mommie and daddy! He is weighing in at about 23 lbs and just keeps on growing! We are in the process of having him allergy tested, and hopefully we'll find that he has grown out of some of his food allergies. Aidan has also moved out of the infant room at day care and is now in the toddler room! What a Big Boy!! This week he has started swim lessons and he loves it! After this two week session is over, I am thinking about enrolling him in another two week session as long as it works with our schedule!
So what's coming up in our lives? We will get to see our 2nd munchkin at an ultrasound appt this week. We decided to name him Colin Christian. I am feeling great and most days have tons of energy! Ian and I will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary next week. Time just flies by! I feel like our wedding was yesterday! We are also planning another trip this summer. We'll be heading up to spend 4th of July with family in Washington! Fun times ahead!!! I am loving my time off from work and wish summer could last forever! I promise to be a better blogger this summer and keep everyone updated with what's happening in the lives of the Sharps!
A place to share about the recipes, crafts, and other projects I try out as I enjoy being a Stay at Home Mom.

10 1/2 months
Here it is in a nutshell...
I know it has been awhile since I last posted. Life has been pretty hectic here as most of you know! Aidan is now 10 1/2 months old. The last couple months have been a little rough. We knew something was wrong with Aidan's stomach since he had very prolonged diarrhea, loss of weight, and he'd stopped eating. His doctor referred him to a GI and after our initial consultation he had him tested for cystic fibrosis (which luckily he doesn't have) and to have an endoscopy of his stomach and large intestine. It turns out he has allergic colitis and cannot have dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, or nuts. He is currently on a hypoallergenic formula for milk protein allergies and is doing much better. He currently weighs about 20 1/2 lbs which is a big improvement and at his 9 month appt he was about 30 inches. Eating is still an issue as we are limited in what we can feed him and what finger foods are available for him to eat, but he's a trooper and we're making progress.
Aidan also got his very first tooth about 2 weeks ago, and just got his second last week. He's been quite fussy the past two days and not sleeping again (like this kiddo has slept through the night since about 4 months anyway) so I have a feeling we might be getting another. Speaking of fussiness someone is whining up a storm, so I will have to post pics later.
